For the work 2417 3ETT MC4 UPS gave the artist access to its delivery system and sanctioned the inclusion of a running recording device inside a parcel. While travelling from Linz/A to Bristol/UK via Vienna and Cologne 2417 3ETT MC4 — the title refers to the UPS tracking code — captured the experience of its 1187-mile journey in a continuous audio recording. Either carried by men, conveyor belts, UPS mail vans and trucks or a cargo plane: depending on the current stage of the shipment progress sounds range from quiet moments and humorous conversations in sorting offices to periods of abstraction in terms of overdriven noise. For the exhibition at Bristol Diving School the post box was converted into a speaker emitting the original recording. Furthermore the audio material was also processed into a live set performed during the opening.1
